NCPW METTLE
Title matches? Three of them. Surprises? Yeah, a few. Mettle is good this week.

We skip the usual opening sequence this week, as it has been replaced for one week only with this:

---A Thousand Years Of Wisdom by Eric Stuart---

As the music plays, we see a picture of Al Snow in black and white. This fades into some colour clips from the archives of Al Snow in the very first NCPW Card, winning the world title. As the lyrics start, we see clips from Al Snow and Raven' first match on Monday Mayhem, and then some clips from the barbed wire match. This fades into Al now at the last F8 being hit with the metal bar at the hands of Sick Boy (these recent clips are in black and white). After each hit, we cut to a clip of Al in action in the past, such as hitting Keiji Mutoh with a massive moonsault to the outside, or superkicking Robbie Brookside, or Snow Plowing HHH through a table. Each time we see an old clip, it goes back to another hit. This continues till we've seen about aminute of this, and then we just see a slowed down series of bar shots on Al.On about the third shot, we slow to a stop and we can clearly see Al dropping and the colour fades in and we see more clearly the scene: Sick Boy with a smile on his face, the falling Al with sweat and blood visible in the air around his face. After a few seconds, the clip plays again, and Al drops. As Eric Stuart sings "I've been around, but it's got me nowhere…" (we are about 2 minutes 45 seconds in) we go back to old format of each bar shot being followed by older clips, this time of times such as Raven pinning Al with the Evenflow DDT, HHH putting Al throgh several tables, and TAKA Michinoku hitting his Michinoku Driver. After a few clips like this, the picture freezes on Sick Boy hitting HHH with the bar for a few seconds, and then goes to him hitting Raven for a few seconds. This then goes to the final sickening moments of the attack with Sick Boy writing on his own head with Al Snow's blood. The picture zooms in on Al Snow's bloody face and we go black and white as the music fades. We fade back to the arena.

---Kaze by Kouji Wada---

A small round of cheers goes up through the crowd as Juventud Guerrera make shis way down the aisle. He does his usal rouine and waits.

---Poison by Alice Cooper---

The music hits and the crowd cheers as Dave Harris walks out alone. The commentators tell us that Ralphus and Jericho are not here yet. Dave makes his way to the ring like normal and he and Juvy play a little air guitar in the ring before we start.

DAVE HARRIS
VS
JUVENTUD GUERRERA
This was a pretty solid match. Dave is getting into singles matches better now, but is still much better suited to the tag division. He and Juvy trade move after move, including a smooth sequence of Dave Juvy hitting a spinning head scissors then a hurucanrana, and then turning ti be hit with an arm drag, staying down as Dave runs the ropes, and trying a leap frog only to be hit with a dropkick. The action was good, but the finish was not what the fans really wanted to see, as was obvious by the boos. Juvy had hit a Juvy Driver, but Dean Malenko and Nick Dinsmore walked down the aisle. Juvy looked over to them and as a result his pin only got two. He went outside and shouted at them, but they pushed past and got in the ring and attacked Dave Harris! DQ!

Dave Harris defeated Juventud Guerrera by disqualification in 0:04:44.
Rating: ** ¼

POST MATCH
The attack on Dave continued, and Juvy tried to help Dave, but was thrown out of the ring. As Dave was reeling, we hear…

---Poison by Alice Cooper---

IT'S CHRIS JERICHO! JERICHO RUNS DOWN THE AISLE AND SLIDES INTO THE RING AS THE CROWD GOES CRAZY! Nick turns from Dave first and is hit with a flying forearm, theat sends him to the mat, Dean turns and Jericho dropkicks him in the face. Dean and Nick get up and try to get a double team in on Jericho, but he ducks and Nick trips over the fallen Dave Harris! Jericho clotheslines Dean, sending him over the ropes to the outside! As he goes after Nick Dinsmore, Nick runs, and ducks out of the ring up the aisle with Dean! Meanwhile, Jericho checks on Dave and takes a mic.

CHRIS JERICHO: Yeah! That's it! Take out the rookie! I tell you what Dean, you and me go back a long way, so I know what to expect from you. You think you can get away with this, don't you! Well…you will NEVER…EVER…get away with this Dean! I know you and Nick think that was fun, but you won't think it's so fun later tonight when Lionheart takes Dean-o Machine-o apart in this very ring in my home country of Canada!

The crowd cheers for both the mention of Canada and for the thought of a Jericho vs Dean Malenko match tonight. Dean and Nick seem happy enough too as they walk up the ramp. Chris Jericho meanwhile helps Dave Harris to the back.

IN THE RING PROMO
---Cure by MetallicA---

This music sends the crowd into a frenzy of boos as "The Sickest Man In The Business" Sick Boy makes his way out to the ring. He looks at the crowd with the grin of a mad man as he walks down to the ring. This week, he is wearing a new set of Sick Boy tights, and an NCPW Al Snow shirt. He has a mic in his hand. He also has a bag which he drops in one of the corners.

SICK BOY: Yeah yeah, that's it! Boo me! GO ON BOO ME! LET THAT FRUSTRATION OUT! Why? Because you'll have plenty more aggression once I finish with the rest of the main event trash around here! HA!

The crowd boos Sick Boy loudly.

SICK BOY: You see, you people will all too soon realise that I am the man who will rule at the top of the NCPW, and you WILL chant my name! YOU WILL STAND ON YOUR FEET AND SCREAM SICK BOY! SICK BOY! COME ON, LETS HEAR IT!

The crowd boos loudly again, and half of them are on their feet shouting "SICK BOY SUCKS! SICK BOY SUCKS!" at the man standing in the ring with a large smile on his face. He starts to pace back and forth as he talks.

SICK BOY: Last Sunday, I did everyone a favour. I thought long and hard about which man was the biggest piece of vermin in the NCPW…which man spread his disease the most and I decided that it must be Simply Sensational. I then went out to that ring WITH A PURPOSE! I KNEW WHAT I WANTED TO DO…and I did it. I took…him…out! I destroyed him and his legacy. And now…

Sick Boy rips his Al Snow shirt off and throws it down in the ring and spits on it.

SICK BOY: I spit on everything he stood for. I…

---Identity by Blaze---

"Madness can come from the mind or the heart, ending is never as good as the start. Nothing is ever as good as your dreams, nothing is ever as bad as…" The spoken intro whips the crowd up as they know who's coming! The guitars kick in hard and heavy and NCPW Owner Matt Doyle walks down the aisle, looking serious. He steps up onto the apron, and Sick Boy holds the ropes for him as he enters. Matt calls for a mic, and is thrown one.

MATT DOYLE: You Scott, you need to think long and hard right now. Was it worth it? I mean, sure you took out Al Snow. Hell, as you could probably tell from that video we put together at the start of the show, he's gonna be gone for atleast six months. So tell me, now that you're big news, was it worht it? Was that rush when you took that bar to the ring worth it? Huh? YOU HAVE MADE A LOT OF ENEMIES, SO WHY DON'T YOU TELL US WHAT IT IS YOU WANT AND WE CAN SEE ABOUT GIVING IT TO YOU SO YOU CAN FUCK OFF!

The crowd cheers that comment from Matt Doyle and he stares Sick Boy right in the eye. Sick Boy smiles.

SICK BOY: I want only what is mine by rights. I want a world title shot. Last Sunday, the las tman standing was set to get that shot, and I WAS that man.

MATT DOYLE: HAHAHA! You think that what you did makes you the top contender? You think that because you swung a metal pole you automatically get this title shot? HAHAHA! Tell me this…what makes you think that what you did means you get this shot?

Sick Boy walks over to his bag and pulls out the still bloody bar he used to beat Al Snow with.

SICK BOY: THIS makes me the top contender. I used this on Al Snow, and I'll use this on anyone else who thinks I don't deserve this title shot that I have coming.

MATT DOYLE: For your sake, I REALLY hope that's not a threat. So put that thing down and listen to how it's gonna be. You WILL NOT get a World Title shot…not yet anyway.

Sick Boy looks pissed off after that.

MATT DOYLE: BUT…you WILL get the title shot when I feel that you have earned it. You can start tonight too, because I'vve got a very special opponent for you. A man who always deserved more in the NCPW, just like you Sick Boy, and he's got himself some new theme music, and he's ready to kick ass. That ass he's gonna kick is yours! Of course, IF you manage to win, then I'll see what I can do about this title shot you seem to think you deserve.

SICK BOY:I can handle that. So who is this loser that's returning?

MATT DOYLE: I'll leave that till later. You'll know him when you see him.

SICK BOY: And Glen Jacobs? Who does he face at One Step Closer?

MATT DOYLE: I'm glad you asked that. You see, the obvious thing to do would be to say lets have Glen against Hunter and Raven at the same time in a three-way dance. But that aint how we do thing shere in the NCPW. No way. Tonight will be a match to determine the top contender. The winner faces Glen. If there is no winner tonight for any reason, then we'll have to see what happens. Meanwhile, Glen himself has the night off tonight.

SICK BOY: OK…OK…this seems fair. So who are the guys in the top contenders match gonna be?

---The Game by Motorhead---

The music plays and HHH walks down the ramp to the ring and stands behind Matt Doyle. The crowd cheer him, and Sick Boy looks unhappy about this.

---Victim Of Darkness by Seasons Of The Wolf---

The arena lights go blue and Raven walks out down the ramp and takes a position next to Hunter as the lgihts go back to normal.

SICK BOY: WHOA THERE! THOSE TWO ARE THE TWO?

MATT DOYLE: You damn right! Since you screwed Al, I figured lets let to two you essentially also screwed have their time. It's time for these two to take their chance, and you can try to keep up!

HHH: And as a fair warning Sick Boy, if you even THINK about screwing me again tonight, I'm gonna make sure you regret the day you were born. Just cause you were stupid enough to take out Al Snow, doesn't mean I'll take pity and go easy on you.

SICK BOY: Yeah, that's it! Act the tough guy. You Hunter are nothing but a man who THINKS he can stand around and be the tough guy that everyone obeys. Well let me tell you something…I AM THE TOUGH GUY AROUND HERE! I AM THE SICKEST MAN IN THIS BUSINESS AND YOU…you arenothing…NOTHING!

HHH gets ready to attack, but Sick Boy readys his metal bar, and Raven steps in. He stares Sick Boy straight in the eyes.

RAVEN: Do you remember? Do you remember when I was the leader and you the follower? It seems that you've broken free from the constraints I placed on you, and I'm proud of you. But now you need to ask you self this…what is it that you're looking for? What do you truly seek? A Better Tomorrow? Let me tell you now…the path you have taken and continue to tread is not easy, and you need to look over your shoulder every single second of every day now, and you need to sleep with your eyes open, because you never…NEVER…fid that Better Tomoorow that you desire, because it doesn't exist. I tried to find it to, but all you find at the end of this road is a dark alley, and no escape. Can you handle that truth? Or is it not the truth you want?

Sick Boy looks in Raven's eyes with a pained expression, then appears to snap out of it and swings the bar in his direction. Raven ducks back.

SICK BOY: FUCK YOU! IT'S YOU TWO THAT NEED TO LOOK OVER YOUR SHOULDER! IT'S YOU TWO THAT CAN FORGET SLEEP! I WILL DESTROY YOU TWO AS I DID AL IF THAT'S WHAT IT TAKES TO GET MY TITLE SHOT!

RAVEN: Then so be it.

Raven ducks out of the ring and walks up the asiel. Sick Boy is confued by his passiveness to his tirade. He then looks to HHH.

HHH: My warning still stands. If you come within one foot of me tonight, I will personally take that bar of yours and put it to better use thatn you did with Al.

SICK BOY: Try me…FUCKING TRY ME YOU SON OF A BITCH! COME ON GAME! COME PLAY BY MY FUCKING RULES! COME ON!

HHH laughs. The crowd is incredibly heated.

HHH: Your time will come, punk. Once my bsuiness is finished here with Glen Jacobs, and I hold that title…I'll think back to this and how you want that title shot so bad…and I'll male sure that you NEVER get the shot! THIS IS MY TIME!

Sick Boy swings at Hunter who jumps back and comes back with a knee to the face. He then leaves as Sick Boy gets up.

SICK BOY: THAT'S IT! RUN! RUN YOU BASTARD! RUN!

MATT DOYLE: Remember…tonight you face an NCPW legend. Don't screw up, and you mgiht just get that shot down the road.

Matt Doyle leaves, and Sick Boy remains pissed off. He hits the bar on the floor as we cut to…

---Walk by Pantera---

We return with this music playing, and the crowd chanting "Rob…Van Dam Sucks!" The Whole F'N Show steps out to the ramp and is followed by Kanyon. RVD points to himself as he walks down the aisle, and Kanyon shouts at a few fans as they enter the ring. RVD takes the mic from the ring announcer.

ROB VAN DAM: Last Sunday, The Whole F'N Show became the F8 Winner of 2003! What does that mean? Well, it means I get to kick some serious ass against that lame, anti-charisma, Canadian you fans call a TV Champion, Chris Benoit! Well, tonight is the first taster of that beating as me and my buddy Kanyon face off with Benoit and Nova! The question now is…how long can they last till you people realise that I'm the best?

Kanyon takes the mic.

KANYON: You're the best? HA! Don't make me laugh!

RVD does his finger pointing and reminds Kanyon who he is.

KANYON: Whatever…lets just get down to business! First things first, I…

---Walk by Pantera---

RVD's music stops Kanyon, and they look to the aisle. Four men step through the curtain carrying the F8 trophy for 2003 and they carry it down the ramp and leave it at the bottom of the aisle. They then leave up the aisle and a man in a suite walks down the ramp. He picks up the trophy and enters the ring.

KANYON: What is this?

MAN: Ladies and Gentlemen, the presentation of the F8!

The crowd boos and the man wipes the trophy and hands it to Rob Van Dam.

MAN: This signif…

Kanyon grabs the man and Flatliners him. RVD doesn't care though and poses with his trophy.

KANYON: As I was saying…Nova…you and me are gonna…

---Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down---

Kanyon is cut off yet again, this time by his opponents entering. Benoit and Nova walk down the aisle and stand at the bottom of the apron. RVD shows them his trophy and poses again ans they look on bemused.

KANYON: DAMNIT! You know what? Screw this! WHO'S BETTER THAN KANYON?

ROB VAN DAM: ME! RVD is better than Kanyon!

Kanyon just stares at RVD for a second and then gets in his face and shouts at him. RVD seemingly ignores the shouting and continues the pose. Then Benoit and Nova jump in the ring and the match begins.

"THE CRIPPLER" CHRIS BENOIT (TV CHAMPION) & "THE INNOVATOR" NOVA
VS
"THE WHOLE F'N SHOW" ROB VAN DAM & "THE INNOVATOR" KANYON
This was pretty short really, but hey! It's TV! Kanyon was attacked by Benoit and RVD by Nova at the start and they were backed into opposite corners. After a quick beating, they were whipped into each other and Nova took over on Kanyon and Benoit on RVD. The match went mainly Benoit and Nova's way as they continued to beat RVD into the ground with some quick double team moves. Then RVD ducked a Benoit crossbody and made a tag to Kanyon! Kanyon jumped in the ring and unloaded with some quick punches and clotheslines. RVD recovered quickly in the corner, and waited. Kanyon hit some big moves on Benoit, and even hit the Flatliner, but only got two as Nova broke the fall. Kanyon controlled Benoit with surprising ease here, and was only let down when Benoit ducked a clothesline and hit a dropkick allowing him to make the tag to Nova. Nova cam jumping into te ring, and the referee forced Benoit out of the ring. As the referee got Benoit to the apron, RVD snuck in and hit a Van Daminator on Nova, causing Benoit to jump in again, and further distract the referee! Kanyon hit the Flatliner onto the chair, and RVD dove at Benoit, sending them both to the outside. When the referee tunred around, the chair had been removed and he saw Kanyon hit the Kryptonite Krunch on Nova for the 1-2-3!

Kanyon and Rob Van Dam defeated Chris Benoit and Nova when Kanyon pinned Nova after the Krypotonite Crunch in 0:06:32.
Rating: ** ¾

POST MATCH
Kanyon sttod over Nova and laughed before leaving up the ramp with a big smile on his face. Meanwhile, RVD was beating on Benoit and tried a Van Daminator. Benoit threw the chair back and hit a dropkick, sending the chair in RVD's face! He then hit a German Suplex on the outside! RVD ws down and out at this point, and Benoit grabbed his TV Title Belt and stood over RVD, and said something about RVD never getting getting this belt.

IN THE JACKYL PACK'S LOCKER ROOM
The Jackyl Pack are seen polishing their belts, and they look very upset about something. Modest looks almost worried, while Eddie looks ready to snap.

EDDIE GUERRERO: I can't belive they're making us defend these belts again tonight.

MICHEAL MODEST: Yeah, I mean…we already beat Zero-G last Sunday, so why make us fight them again tonight? Flames Of Redemption I can understand after that four-way match they won, but Zero-G?

EDDIE: GUERRERO: I guess they just can't get enough of seeing us kickng Kid Kash and Devon Storm's asses! The match doesn't really matter anyway, I mean, we already Zero-G so we'll do it again.

MICHEAL MODEST: And Flames Of Redemption could never get the job done so we don't really need to worry there either. Hell, why are we sitting here worrying about a match against two teams who don't have a hope in Hell of beating us? Lets just go get something to eat.

EDDIE GUERRERO: Yeah, sure…

They get up to leave as we cut back to the ring.

PRE MATCH
---Unforgiven II by MetallicA---

The music plays and Billy Kidman runs down the aisle to a luke-warm reaction from the Canadian Crowd. He warms up in the ring as we wait.

---Shine by Motorhead---

The music hits and as Lemmy's voice rings out Chavo enters to a good loud reaction from the crowd. He enters the ring for this title match, but doesn't appear to have the belt with him. The referee asks Chavo for the belt and Chavo suddenly realises his mistake. The referee sends someone to the back to get the belt as we start the match.

CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
CHAVO GUERRERO JR. (CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPION)
VS
BILLY KIDMAN
A decent TV Cruiser match here from Chavo and his former rival. They went back and forth for a minute or so before Chavo took over. He then hit some big moves on Kidman, including a Lyger Bomb for a two count, and a top-rope reverse Suplex. Kidman managed to get back into things by blocking a back body drop and hitting a Kid Krusher for two, but the end was never really in doubt. Chavo managed to hit the Tornado DDT for the fall.

Chavo Guerrero Jr. pinned Billy Kidman with the Tornado DDT in 0:05:30.
Rating: ** 1/2
(Chavo Guerrero Jr. retained the NCPW Cruiserweight Title.)

POST MATCH
As Chavo celebrated the other official who was sent back to get the belt returned…empty handed? He explains something to the referee and Chavo, and Chavo runs to the back as we go to…

~~~COMMERCIAL~~~
IN CHAVO GUERRERO JR.S LOCKER ROOM
Chavo dashes into his locker room and we see that the belt isn't there at all. On the table where Chavo left the belt, we see a scroll. Chavo looks somewhat annoyed, and looks at the scroll. He opens it and we see something in Japanese is written on it. Chavo seems puzzled, and then…
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: J-THUNDER!
Chavo runs out of the locker room to go searching for TAKA and Funaki.
IN THE HALLS
We see HHH and Raven walking down the halls talking about the main event.
HHH: Yeah well…whoever wins doesn't matter. If I win I'm taking that belt from Glen. If you win I'll take the belt from you when you beat Glen.
RAVEN: You seem confident that Glen is going to lose the title.
HHH: I am. His time at the top is coming to an end, one way or another. Say…what was all that Better Tomorrow crap you said to Sick Boy?
RAVEN: For the time being, that doesn't matter Hunter. I know what he wants, and I know where he's going. I also know just how he thinks he can get there quicker. It's because of that, that I already know the result of tonights match. All you need to know is this. I know…
Raven continues to walk on, but HHH stops and looks at him go. Hunter looks a little confused at what Raven has just said.
IN THE RING
---War Machine by Kiss---
The music is already playing and Taz is already getting in the ring as we get to the arena shot. Taz stands like normal and takes a mic.
TAZ: I AM TAZ! THE NCPW FTW CHAMPION! BEAT ME IF YOU CAN! SURVIVE IF I LET YOU! And remember this…whoever it is I face tonight, if you're stupid enough to come out here and get choked out, you'll be just another victim!
Taz goes back to standing in the corner, arms crossed as we await his mystery opponent.
---Walk On Water by Ozzy Osbourne---
IT'S MIKEY! The crowd give Mikey a warm reception as he runs down the aisle and dives into the ring…
FTW TITLE MATCH
"THE HUMAN SUPLEX MACHINE" TAZ (FTW CHAMPION)
VS
MIKEY WHIPWRECK
Mikey ducks a clothesline straight away and comes back with a FrankenMikey for a quick two count, but gets up and is belly-tobelly Tazplexed and he rolls to the outside. Outside the ring, he doesn't stop moving, but instead grabs as many weapons as he can and throws them into the ring as Taz looks on. Mikey climbs onto the apron and Taz walks forward. Mikey hits a shoulder to the midsection and dives over Taz, and runs the ropes, picking up a chair on the way. As Taz turns…WHAM! CHAIR SHOT! Taz falls to the floor and Mikey celebrates, only to have Taz get up and lock on a Tazmission! Mikey fights out though by grabbing a pice of wood and ramming it behind him into Taz. Taz manages to come straight back though with a single-leg Tazplex!
This is how the match went really, Mikey and Taz traded very quick sections of Mikey with weapons and Taz with suplexes. The finish saw Justin Credible rin in from the crowd as Taz prepared a T-Bone Tazplex…CRACK! SINGAPORE CANE ACROSS TAZ'S FACE! Taz drops Mikey, and Mikey nails Credible with a Whippersnapper! Mikey then hits a Whippersnapper on Taz! One…Two…Three!
No-Time-Limit-No-Countout-No-DQ-MatchMikey Whipwreck pinned Taz with the Whippersnapper in 0:04:54.
Rating: ***
(Mikey Whipwreck won the NCPW FTW Title.)
IN THE BACK
Chavo Guerrero Jr. is seen talking to a security guard at the main door.
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: You're sure?
SECURITY GUARD: Yes. J-Thunder have not been here at all today. Shinjiro Ohtani and Kouji Kanemoto are also not here, because they aren't scheduled to appear here tonight.
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: Didn't anyone Japanese come in through here?
SECURITY GUARD: Only the fans! How do you know it wasn't just someone who can write Japanese? Might be an American who's been to Japan?
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: Yeah…I guess so…SHIT!
Chavo Guerrero Jr. walks away with his head down as we cut back to the arena, where the next match is already ready to start.
BRITISH STORM & "WILDCAT" ROBBIE BROOKSIDE
VS
THE ELIMINATORS & JUSTIN CREDIBLE
Yep! Just was already stillin the ring and was joined by The Eliminators quickly as Taz left after Mikey. Then the Brits came out for what we are told is one last time together, as the stable is splitting now that Hammerlock are gone.
A poor match really, and totally disjointed. This was only put together at the lst minute due to Hammerlock's last minute quitting of the company. As a result, it was kept short and Credible was pinned with a Robbie Brookside Cross-Armed Iconclasm.
British Storm and Robbie Brookside defeated The Eliminators and Justin Credible when Brookside pinned Credible with the Cross-Armed Iconoclasm in 0:04:31.
Rating: * 3/4
IN THE BACK
The Jackyl Pack are seen entering the arena again eating nachos. They seem to be confident about tonight now, and not bothered about their match.
PRE MATCH
---Big Bad Moon by Joe Satriani---
Dean Malenko enters the ring to boos from the crowd. It seems that this feud is getting him over! He is alone, as Nick  Dinsmore is I nthe back making sure rhere is no interference from Dave Harris.
---Poison by Alice Cooper---
As sson as the music hits, the crowd starts to cheer Chris jericho. He is also alone as Ralphus is tending to Dave in the back. He seems confident as ever, but somewhat annoyed at Malenko too.
"LIONHEART" CHRIS JERICHO
VS
DEAN MALENKO
A decent match here beween the two. They feel each other ot with a little bit of chain stuff at the start, and this soon moves into Dean nailing a Snap Suplex for two, followed by a Jackhammer for another two. Jericho reels from the moves and is hit with more high impact moves from Dean…this is very uncharacteristic of Malenko. Jericho's comeback consisted of a reverseing a hurucanrana into a triple powerbomb for a two count, and then being tripped again. Eventually, Dean went for the Texas Cloverleaf, but let go of the hold when he saw Nick Dinsmore fall through the curtain and down the aisle as Ralphus and Dave Harris rush down. The referee steps out to stop them, and Dean gets a three count on Jericho with a crossbody. Nick Dinsore then gets in the ring and tries a top rope dropkick, but Jericho ducks! Dean is taken out, and Nick is thrown to Dave and Ralphus! When Dean gets up, he takes a small package and Jerihco gets the three count!
Chris Jericho pinned Dean Malenko after a small package in 0:05:17.
We return and we are ready for the fnal three matches of the night. First up is Sick Boy's challenge for tonight.
---Cure by MetallicA---
The arena explodes into boos and jeers as Sick Boy makes his way out to the ring for this match. He has his trusty metal bar with him and hands it to the referee in exchange for a mic.
SICK BOY: OK, I don't give a rats ass who's coming out here tonight. So what if he's a NCPW legend who deserved more? What he's gonna get is an ass kicking at the hands of the sickest man in the business!
---Mirror In Your Eyes by Rage---
The music hits and the crowd wait in anticipation as to who is back in the NCPW. The music makes for "Peavy" to sing "I never believed in miracles, I rarely even cried…" and as the lyrics hit someone steps out through the curtain…IT'S STEVIE RICHARDS! MY GOD! STEVIE IS BACK IN THE NCPW! Stevie embraces a large round of cheers from the crowd, and a "STEVIE! STEVIE!" chant goes up as he walks down to the ring and snatches the mic from Sick Boy.
STEVIE RICHARDS: STEVIE IS BACK!
The crowd cheers and Sick Boy stands in the corner, showing no emotion at all.
STEVIE RICHARDS: Now it seems that this little upstart here, Sick Boy, took out a good friend of mine Al Snow. Al is a man I fought many times here in the NCPW, and never once did he do anything to deserve this. Of course, looking at Al also shows how much the bsuiness has changed and how much the NCPW has changed. I mean, when I was here, Al could finish with the Snow Plow. After I left, his finishers list went up to Snow Plow, Superkick, Moonsault, Sprngboard Leg Drop…so I thought, to go with the new music I should get an extra finisher. So Tonight Sick Boy you're gonna be hit, dropped and lost at the hands of not only the Stevie Kick, but my new finisher too!
Sick Boy smiles and stretches as the referee calls for the bell.
"THE SICKEST MAN IN THE BUSINESS" SICK BOY
VS
STEVIE RICHARDS
One of the longest matches of the night, and not too bad either. It should be noted that Stevie has not competed in a single match since leaving the NCPW. You could see the ring rust in this one, but he and Sick Boy manage to assemble a decent match to go with it.
A slow start of each man hitting some quick fire moves made way for Sick Boy taking over with a low blow and a piledriver. Sick Boy controlled the next couple of minutes until Stevie managed to reverse a hip toss with an arm drag and went straight back into it! He fired off move after move on Sick Boy, until eventually he hit a powerbomb and took a step back. The crowd knew what to expect and they clapped and stomped as Stevie Richards hit Sick Boy with…STEVIE KICK! One…Two…ThrNO! Sick Boy got a shoulder up! Stevie smiled, and shouted out, "THIS IS IT!" He then whipped Sick Boy into the ropes and caught him tilt-a-whirl style, but held him half-way through and span, hitting a Tombstone Piledriver! Stevie just hit a Tilt-A-Whirl Tombstone Piledriver on Sick Boy!One…Two…someone just put Sick Boy's foot on the ropes! IT'S ROBBIE BROOKSIDE! Stevie gets up and starts shouting at Robbie, and when he turns he gets hit with a kick to the midsection from a stumbling Sick Boy, and then a high impact Cure! One…Two…Three!
No-Time-Limit-MatchSick Boy pinned Stevie Richards with the Cure in 0:10:52.
Rating: ** ½
POST MATCH
Sick Boy leaves up the aisle celebrating his win against the "Legend of the NCPW" Stevie Richards. As he leaves, Robbie Brookside gets in the ring and hits the recovering Stevie with a Standing Jumping Tornado DDT! He then places him on the top roipe and hits a Cross-Armed Iconclasm!
ROBBIE BROOKSIDE: I know you all want to know why I did that, right?
The crowd boos Robbie's actions.
ROBBIE BROOKSIDE: Well, since Hammerlock are now departed, thanks to me! Since they're gon, I need something to do, and I figured that I could get back into the top line scene by making my presence felt. Sick Boy seems to be going the right way about getting himself oticed, and tonight I too the first steps in joining him in the main event scene by taking this "Legend" and screwing him over! HAHAHA! The Wildcat is going to go on, and continue to beat on you Stevie, until I get what I want…RESPECT!
Robbie throws the mic down and leaves as the crowd boos. The ring eventually clears, and we get ready for the tag titles match.
---Tokyo Devil by B'Zs---
The hard and heavy Japanese Rock song blasts out over the speakers and the crowds mildly cheers FoR as they enter. Essa Rios and Eiji Ezaki seem ready to get back into the title chace.
---Last Resort by Papa Roach---
The crowd sings along: "CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES! THIS IS MY LAST RESORT!" Zero-G jump out onto the aisle and embrace the cheers from the crowd. Their new face run seems to have been a good thing for their careers.
---Stone Dead Forever by Motorhead---
The champs step out for the match. The crowd boos loudly, and we see that they've finished their food and are ready to take the match seriously.
TAG TITLES MATCH
THE JACKYL PACK (TAG CHAMPIONS)
VS
ZERO-G
VS
FLAMES OF REDEMPTION
The match started off with FoR and Zero-G as The Jackyl Pack had not yet got on the apron. The two teams traded moves until about the three minute mark when Kid Kash hit the Money Maker and Eddie tagged himelf in and hit the Frog Splash for the pin, eliminating FoR!
This left the two teams that clashed last Sunday! Kash and Eddie proceeded to put on a decent display of high spots before making way for the Indy Sensations Modest and Devon Storm to take over. This lasted for about aminute as the two tore into each other, and then Kash tagged back in and Modest was dropped with…FREE FALL! One…Two…Eddie breaks it up! Kash goes to work on Eddie and Devon takes over on the dead Modest by hitting two Thunderclap Brainbusters! One…Two…Three! Devon got the pin, and he wasn't the legal man!
No-Time-Limit-Triangle MatchZero-G defeated The Jackyl Pack and Flames Of Redemption:
POST MATCH
The crowd cheers loudly as Zero-G grab the belts and leave! The Jackyl Pack seem to be complaining to the referee about something, probably the legal man issue! After a while of shouting, they drop the referee with a double DDT and leave.
---The Game by Motorhead---
Main Event Time! "The Game" HHH steps out onto the ramp and the crowd cheers loudly! They seemin high spirits fir this main evnt as Hunter walks to the ring.
---Victim Of Darkness by Seasons Of The Wolf---
The lights go off, and a blue spotlight centres on the aisle. Raven appears to rise through the stage and walks down the ramp to cheers as the light follows him and the ramp fills with smoke. The lights raise as he stands on the apron and we are ready to start.
TOP CONTENDERS MATCH
"THE GAME" HHH
VS
RAVEN
This was what we expected. The two fought hard, despite it not being a no dq match. It seemed that each move was high impact, and each one more high impact than the last as they put on a rock solid match for the fans!
Ravem was the first to ger REALLY close to winning the match with an Evenflow DDT that just placed Triple H too close to the ropes. At two, he got his foot under the rope. Hunter scored next hitting a Pedigree, but having Raven just get his shoulder up. Hunter hit the Game Over later on, but Raven fell to the outside of the ring and recovered by eight. Raven then locked in the STF at the 11 minute mark, right in the middle of the ring! As he held it, Sick Boy ran down the aisle! hE jumped in the ring and swung his metal bar at both guys, and the referee called for the bell.
HHH and Raven battled to non-finish in 0:12:00.
Rating: *** ¼
POST MATCH
The crowd boo as Sick Boy swings at both guys again. Raven just leaves peacefully and shouts something about "knowing" to Sick Boy as he leaves. Meanwhile, HHH standsa on the outside of the ring incredible pissed off. The picture fades as the commentators wonder what we'll have as the main event of the PPV if we no longer have a World Title Match.
"Who needs action when you got words"
The screen remains for a moment and then fades to the arena.
THE SHOW BEGINS
The crowd cheers as we get ready for another edition of NCPW METTLE! The pyros go off, and we await the first match. The ring announcer soon steps out and the crowd cheers again as we hear the introductions for the first match of the night.
---Shine by Motorhead---
Chavo Guerrero Jr. steps out through the curtain to cheers from the crowd. He does not have his belt, and this is getting to him abviously. He seems to be all business as he steps in the ring and takes the mic from the announcer.
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: Lets get one thing straight.. To those freaks that stole my belt, I KNOW you're watching, so listen up and listen good. I WILL hunt you down and take my belt back, so cherish this time you have with it, `cause you won't get another chance with it.
Chavo throws the mic back to the announcer as the crowd pops.
---Heart Of Madness from the Fist Of The North Star Soundtrack---
The music hits. There is a small pop when Dragon Kid steps out into the aisle. It seems that the NCPW does have a Puro fans in attendance these days. However, not that many people in the crowd know the Toryumon star so his reception is somewhat frosty.
NCPW CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH
CHAVO GUERRERO JR.
[CHAMPION]
VS
"LIL' DRAGON" DRAGON KID
Dragon Kid got himself a nice little pop very quickly as he slid under a charging Chavo's legs and nailed a dropkick. This lead straight into a Dragon Ray from Dragon Kid for a two count. The crowd loved that move, and it's shame that he didn't hit too many more of them. The majority of what remained in the match was Chavo hitting some stiff looking moves on the pint sized star. The finish came while Dragon Kid had the advantage. He had reversed a powerbomb attempt with a sunset flip for two, and then nailed an arm drag. Dragon Kid then placed Chavo on the top rope and went up for a Rana. Chavo pushed him off, and then dove off with a Tornado DDT for the inevitable 1-2-3!
Chavo Guerrero Jr. pinned Dragon Kid with the Tornado DDT in 0:05:06.
Rating: * 3/4
(Chavo Guerrero Jr. retained the NCPW Cruiserweight Title.)
POST MATCH
Chavo started to celebrate in the ring, but stopped dead in his tracks when the NCPW Big Screen flashed on.
---Second Coming by Triceratops---
As the music hit, J-Thunder ran out form the back and joined Chavo in the ring. The screen then revealed a darkened room, with four figures sitting around a table. We do not see who they are, but the camera zooms in on the table and we get a shot of the NCPW Cruiserweight Title. In the ring, Chavp os throwing a fit, and J-Thunder calm him down as the music and screen fade out.
IN THE BACK
We cut to the back where the cameras are facing the main door. After a few seconds, Stevie Richards steps into the arena. He is wearing his old Sper Stevie shirt and some new tights. He seems to have a bag with him. What could be in it? Stevie walks past the camera with a big smile on his face.
PRE MATCH
---Uncle Tom's Cabin by Warrant---
The music is new, but the crowd react when a familiar face and his guitar walks through the curtain. There can't have been anybody in the arena tonight who thought they'd see this man back again. He steps in the ring and takes the mic.
JEFF JARRETT: Ladies and Gentlemen, Double J is back in the NCPW! That's right boys and girls, the guitar smashing hero that took the NCPW by storm is ready to lay down the law in the new era of the NCPW!
What new era could that be? All will be revealed later in the show by NCPW Owner Matt Doyle. In the meantime…
---Bleeding Me by MetallicA---
A nice but small pop is heard for a new addition to the NCPW roster. Val Venis walks down the aisle with the towel around his waist and a big smile on his face. He gets in the ring and takes the mic.
VAL VENIS: Hello Ladies!
The female portion of the crowd pops for Val, but before he can say anything else, Jeff Jarrett attacks him.
"DOUBLE J" JEFF JARRETT
VS
VAL VENIS
Hardly the ideal return for Jarrett, or the ideal debut for Val here. After the attack, Val quickly made a come back with a back drop, and he stood over Jeff. He girated those hips and took off the towel and layed in with punches. Val throws the towel to the crowd, and goes back to Jarrett. Fairly standard here with the two trading some basic moves. Unfortunately, the crowd was hardly heated, and both men were somewhat sloppy in the ring. Jarrett did manage to score two counts with The Stroke and a Guitar Shot behind the referee's back. Meanwhile, Val got a two from a Fisherman's Suplex. The finish was a strange one. Val had the advantage by far, and nailed his Pumphandle Powerbomb. One…Two…ThrNO! Val gets up and points to the top rope! The women scream, and Val goes up top and girates the hips again for the Money Shot…wait! Val suddenly stops, and seems to ponder something. He looks around and then jumps to the outside of the ring? Val just walked up the aisle! Val just got himself counted out! What is going on?
Jeff Jarrett defeated Val Venis by countout in 0:06:57.
Rating: * ¼
IN THE RING PROMO
Once Jarrett came to and realised what happened, he shok his head and left with the win. The crowd then got ready as we hear…
---Mirror In Your Eyes by Rage---
The crowd cheers as Stevie Richards steps out with his bag. He walks down the ramp high fiving crowd members and then steps in the ring ready to talk. Before he can talk however, we hear some more music.
---Duck And Run by 3 Doors Down---
The crowd boos loudly as the strangely over "Wildcat" walks down the aisle. He steps in the ring and has a mic of his own ready to talk.
ROBBIE BROOKSIDE: OK Stevie, we all know what's happening here, so lets get down to business. What stipulation have you chosen for our match?
STEVIE RICHARDS: Well well, you sure don't waste time, do you? OK, since you REALLY wanna know, I'll tell you.
Stevie reaches into his bag, and pulls out…a diaper, a baby bottle, and a bonnett?
STEVIE RICHARDS: Here it is. The loser of our little scuffle is gonna be wearng this diaper and this bonnett and he's gonna drink from this bottle. So whadda ya think there Wildcat?
Robbie smiles.
ROBBIE BROOKSIDE: That's the best you could do? I mean, I give you a whole week to come up with something and this is what you come up with?
STEVIE RICHARDS: You think you can do better?
ROBBIE BROOKSIDE: Yeah! How about this? We'll go with your little stipulation, and everyone can have a blast form the past. But here's the added bonus. The loser must continue to wear the diaper and bonnet, and continue to carry the bottle with him after the match, UNTIL…he gets himself a pinfall win.
STEVIE RICHARDS: HA! You must be REALLY sure of yourself to add that! OK, OK, since you're in such a hurry to humiliate yourself, I'll go with that. Yeah, sure, we'll do that then! And then after One Step Coser, the whole world is gonna see the one and only "WILD KITTEN" crying himself to sleep as Stevie…
Robbie cuts Stevie off right there with a superkick. He then lets Stevie get slowly to his feet and nails a jumping DDT. This leads to Robbie hitting his Cross-Armed Iconclasm. As the crowd boos, Robbie counts a mock 3 count and places the bonnett on Stevie. He then leaves the ring to jeers and boos.
IN THE HALLS
In the halls, we see Mikey Whipwreck with his FTW Title. He walks down the hall and passes a locker room. As he walks by, we see The Eliminators step out.
PERRY SATURN: Hey Mikey!
Mikey turns and when he sees the former tag champs, he looks ready to run.
JOHN KRONUS: No wait! It's OK! We won't do anything till the match. This is just a warning that it aint gonna be so easy this time around. We went easy on ya last time!
Mikey has heard enough and runs around the corner…WHAM! SINGAPORE CANE SHOT! Justin Credibe just floored Mikey! He picks up the FTW Belt and shouts something that we can't make out at Mikey. Just then, The Eliminators come around the corner to see what's happening. Justin starts to back off, but backs into Taz! Justin drops the belt and he and Taz start to brawl. Meanwhile, Mikey is helped up by Perry and John, and they hand him his belt. When Mikey realises who just helped him up, he gets a very fearful look on his face and runs like crazy! The Eliminators ponder this reaction for a while, and go to walk off around the corner, but they get cut off! Mikey is back with a trolley of weapons! Each Eliminator gets dropped with a road sign shot, and here comes a referee!
FTW TITLE MATCH
Mikey gets a two count on John, and then a one count on Perry. As The Eliminators regain their senses, Mikey throws a couple of weapons behind him and then picks up the trolley. John and Perry are up, and Mikey throws the trolley at them! He then picks up the weapons he threw and puts them in a trash can. In the background, Taz and Credible are still fighting.
Mikey pulls out a chair and hits both Eliminators as they get up and then drops the chair on them and runs towards the curtain. As he steps through to the aisle, the pop is huge, and Mikey backs up down the aisle a few steps and then takes a fire extinguisher from his can of toys. As The Eliminators step out to the aisle, Mikey tries to blast them, and they duck to the side…but the extinguisher didn't fire! Mikey gets up and looks at it, Perry and John look at each other and smile! Mikey throws the extinguisher and runs, but as soon as it hits the aisle, it goes off, spraying both Eliminators! Mikey shrugs and gets to the bottom of the aisle.
The Eliminators come down the aisle and Mikey takes a Singapore Cane and throws the can into the ring. He backs away from the tag team, and they smile. As Mikey swings, and hits the ring post, Kronus ducks down and cralws under the ring. Mikey backs away from Saturn, and soon Kronus emerges behind him. Mikey backs into him,a and freezes. Then in one quick movement, he turns and hits Kronus over the head with the cane! Kronus is down and Mikey runs past him and slides into the ring! As Saturn jumps in, Mikey throws the can at him, and he falls to the outside where Mikey nails a tope. The crowd cheers and Mikey leaves back through them.
IN THE CAFETERIA
We see Chris Benoit eating something at a table. As the camera zooms out, we see Rob Van Dam take some food too from the back and then walk over and sit with Benoit. Benoit goes to get up, but RVD calms him.
ROB VAN DAM: Calm there man! This is just a casual visit. I just wanted to wish you luck at OSC against RVD! I mean, you're gonna need it!
Benoit is getting angry again.
CHRIS BENOIT: Say what you want, and then leave.
ROB VAN DAM: OK. Look, I got a match tonight against Stevie Richards, and you don't have a match.
CHRIS BENOIT: So?
ROB VAN DAM: Well, the TV champ should fight on every TV show! That's what it means. So I've got this friend who'd love a shot at your belt there tonight, if you're willing.
CHRIS BENOIT: OK. After the tag matches I'll fight your friend. Now leave.
ROB VAN DAM: Cool! I'll go tell him! Meanwhile, you just be ready to lose that belt of yours against me! After all, you can steal the show, but you can't beat it!
Benoit watches RVD leave and gets back to eating as the crowd cheers.
PRE MATCH
---Flight Of Icarus by Iron Maiden---
The crowd cheers as the music plays, and J-Thunder emerge through the curtain with Kouji Kanemoto. The three men who seem to be friendly with Chavo Jr. walk down the ramp and celebrate as the crowd cheers them on.
---Tokyo Devil by B'Zs---
The music cuts them off, and FoR step out onot the aisle. Their cher doesn't last long as their partner for tonight soon joins them. Shinjiro Ohtani is here and ready to tangle!
J-THUNDER & KOUJI KANEMOTO
VS
FLAMES OF REDEMPTION & SHINJIRO OHTANI
The match was a fairly standard affair as far as six man tag matches go, and each man got his chance to put the match away! The two tag teams traded off some nice high flying moves, whiel Kouji and Ohtani traded the ground based stuff. The finish to the match was utter chaos. TAKA hit Essa with a Michinoku Driver, but then fell to a Thunder Fire Powerbomb from Eiji Ezaki. Eiji then took a Fisherman's Buster from Shoichi, who in turn fell foul of an Ohtani Dragon Suplex! This left Ohtani and Kouji! With a clear ring, the two men started the stif kicks going and the crowd cheered them on. Ohtani then nailed a German Suplex, but Kouji landed on his feet! Ohtani celebrated, not noticing, and was dropped with the match winning Tiger Suplex!
IN THE BACK
We see Paul Heyman and Glen Jacobs standing in the interview spot that Heyman seems to live in these days.
PAUL HEYMAN: Ladies and Gentlemen, here tonight is a very special guest. The NCPW World Champion, whom I believe has a message for Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Sick Boy!
GLEN JACOBS: That's right Paul. Now…here's the deal. The original plan was for HHH and Sick Boy to fight it out with Raven as the referee and the winner goes on to face me at Powerslave. Is that going to happen? No! I've been talking to the owner of this company, Mr. Doyle, and of course HHH. What we've decided on is this. The winner of that match at One Step Closer will go straight on to face me right there and then!
PAUL HEYMAN: Two questions…won't that give you an unfair advantage? And also…have you asked Sick Boy about this?
GLEN JACOBS: Easier? These two men are at the top of their game. If they win, then they'll still be able to come at me full force! Not only that, but if they manage to give me a fight, it just proves that they really are THAT damn good! Besides, and there is no offense intended to either guy here…they couldn't beat me on their best day…and I could beat both of them on my worst! And as for Sick Boy…who gives a shit about what he thinks? He doesn't have a say here!
PAUL HEYMAN: Back to ringside!
When he finally got the tag in, the referee was occupied with Dean Malenko and as a result ejected Devon from the ring. The break through finally came when Jericho dove under an Eddie Guerrero dropkick and came back with a flying forearm. Both men were down, and both started to crawl. TAG FROM BOTH SIDES! IN SICK BOY'S LOCKER ROOM
Sick Boy is talking to "Wildcat" Robbie Brookside about tonight.
SICK BOY: I have no doubt that you'll win against Stevie, but that's not the issue here. You see, tonight Glen Jacobs and HHH are teaming up against me and a partner of my choosing with Raven getting some referee practice in. I KNOW they're planning some shit for me, and I figured that I need a REAL partner. So I was thinking that the Wildcat may want to return to the main event tonight?
Robbie smiles.
ROBBIE BROOKSIDE: Sure. I can do that. I'll see you later tonight.
Robbie leaves. Sick Boy watches him go, and the door slams shut.
SICK BOY: Fucking idiot. This place is full of `em! Now…how to deal with Raven…Oh yeah!
Sick Boy reaches down behind a chair and pulls out his metal bar. He then smiles and turns, swinging the bar in one quick movement, totally decapitating a life size cut out of Raven behind him. Sick Boy smiles and drops the bar. He picks up the head.
SICK BOY: You my friend will be an even easier target than Al Snow was!
Fade to the ringside for the next match.
CHRIS BENOIT: OK Rob…lets hear it. Who have you got here to face me tonight?
The NCPW Big Screen turns on again and we see Rob Van Dam standing in the back.
ROB VAN DAM: OK, since you're so eager to see who the Whole F'N Show has waiting back here, I'll let you get down to business. Now I KNOW you must be pretty sure about winning tonight, but don't think it'll be THAT easy! When Rob…Van…Dam gets s urprise, it's BIG one!
The screen turns off.
---Drowning In A Daydream by Corrosion Of Conformity---
The two had some nice moves thrown in to break up the mat wrestling, and then end was the only thing that really disappointed. As Jerry hit the Cradle Piledriver, RVD ran in from the crowd and distracted the referee before he could make a count. Jerry shouted at RVD, and this gave Benoit a chance. He made a recovery and hit a German Suplex…CRIPPLER CROSSFACE! JERRY TAPS!
CHRIS JERICHO: OK, so tonight I totally kicked ass!
DAVE HARRIS: Totally!
CHRIS JERICHO: And we're gonna do the same thing at One Step Closer!
DAVE HARRIS: Totally!
CHRIS JERICHO: But the night is still young!
DAVE HARRIS: Totally!
CHRIS JERICHO: Because you've got a match tonight too, Dave!
PRE TAPED PROMO
The sky is black, and a full moon lights what we can see. In the background, we can hear a loud and constant "squeak…squeak" from a rusty swing, and we hear a familiar voice s the camera looks around the sky.
RAVEN: A wise man once said that freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose.
The camera shot "falls" and we see Raven swinging back and forth slowly and aimlessly.
RAVEN: I was right.
A smile crosses his otherwise sullen face.
RAVEN: Freedom is something that we all seek at some point. Freedom of speech…freedom of expression…freedom to do what you want…
Raven stands up and walks towards a nearby tree.
RAVEN: FREEDOM! Freedom is what makes this world go around. You see, we claim to be a free society…but is that really true? I mean, how many of us can truly say "hey! I'm free?"
Raven squats below the tree and stares directly at the camera.
RAVEN: Answer? None of us. Yet you Sick Boy seem to be searching. You don't want freedom, you want to be able to be yourself. You've already taken that freedom yourself by taking it upon yourself to break every rule in the book to achieve your goal. And now you've got freedom, here you are searching for that better tomorrow. Searching for…the chance. The chance to be.
Raven stands up and puts his hand on the tree. He looks up to its branches.
RAVEN: Now you see, this tree is not free. It's hundreds of years old, but it's not free. It KNOWS that some day someone could come along and just cut it down, dead. But it does have something else. It IS itself. It already has that chance to be, and it's taken it. But you Sick Boy, your chance has not yet come. It will though, but you need me.
Raven walks around the tree and then past the camera. The camera follows, and we can see that this swing is in the middle of the woods. Raven walks out in a clearing where a pile of wood lays. He stops.
RAVEN: On your own, you seem to be doing OK. You're gonna give Hunter a run for his money at One Step Closer. But you won't win. I KNOW you won't win, because you need to focus all that rage. Glen Jacobs was like you, but he began to learn to focus all that energy…thanks to me. But he failed. I unleashed him far too soon. But you? You've already passed him by.
Raven walks on a bit and squats behind the pile of wood.
RAVEN: Without me you'll wander aimlessly, only beginning to comprehend what it is you want. But WITH me…you'll see the future. You'll see your destiny in a new light, and you'll KNOW that I am the one who was sent to help you to your goals. And I WILL be with you, one way or another.
Raven pulls a match out of his pocket and lights it.
RAVEN: Of course, you could continue to reject me…but you won't do that. I think that you KNOW that if you do that then you could end up like that tree will one day…
Raven sets fire to the pile of wood and warms his hands.
RAVEN: You'll end up engulfed in a flame that was not from your hand. All you have to do is one thing. Just one. Join me.
Raven stands up and outstretches his arms crucifix style.
RAVEN: Come with me…and I'll set you free.
The camera zooms out on this scene and we soon fade back to the arena.
The muic hits and Rob Van Dam steps out pointing to himself as the crowd boos. RVD, as always, has an air of confidence about him. He enters the ring and takes a mic, much to the chagrin of those in attendance.
ROB VAN DAM: OK, so I may not have taken the World Title, but that TV Belt is still gonna be mine. You see Benoit, you may have won tongight, but there is something Jerry Lynn isn't…he isn't the Whoel F'N Show, and he sure aint Rob…Van…Dam! Now tonight, the future of wrestling takes on a fellow former ECW star, but far from being the future, my opponent tonight is washed up! Hell, he couldn't get the job done in his prime! So…
---Mirror In Your Eyes by Rage---
The crowd pops as Stevie steps out onto the ramp. He walks down the ramp with a mic, talking as he goes.
STEVIE RICHARDS: Washed up? Couldn't get the job done in his prime? HA! Let me tell you something Rob. You may THINK that you're the best in this business, but the chance of you EVER actually living up to that thought is…hmmm…nope. You aint gonna be that!
Stevie enters the ring.
STEVIE RICHARDS: So let me give you some advice…and you can listen up too Robbbie Brookside…
STEVIE KICK!
STEVIE RICHARDS
VS
"THE WHOLE F'N SHOW" ROB VAN DAM
A hard hitting match here, with the two former ECW guys hitting a few nice moves. Nothing special however, but more heated than you'd expect. The ending was a BIG let down really. After over 11 minutes of action, Chris Benoit walked out onto the aisle. He taunted RVD and RVD went out of the ring and after him. THEN…Robbie Brookside ran down the aisle and Stevie went at it with him. The referee called the double count out.
Stevie Richards and Rob Van Dam battled to a double countout in 0:11:31.
Rating: ** ¼
POST MATCH
Benoit and RVD fought in the middle of the aisle, and Stevie and Robbie fought their wau from the ringside to the area occupied by Chris and Rob. Both Stevie and Robbie hit an elbow to the head and backed away a few steps. Both tried the Super/Stevie Kick and connected with nothing but their foe's foot. Both stared each other down. Meanwhile, Rob and Chris were fighting over the TV Belt. Chris hit some hard chops on RVD, but RVD managed to come back and hit a Van Daminator using the TV Title Belt instead of a chair! Benoit fell. RVD then turned and distracted Stevie, allowing Robbie to hit the Super Kick! RVD picked up the TV Title belt and held it alof tand pointed to himself whiel Robbie taunted Stevie. RVD then dropped the belt and he and Robbie left.
IN THE PARKING LOT
The camera cuts to the parking lot where it circles, showing the cars parked. It then points us in the direction of the main entrance. After only a few seconds, a lone man appears and walks towards us. As he gets closer, we can see that it is Raven. Before entering the building, he looks to the sky and smiles.
RAVEN: And so it begins.
Raven enters the arena.
IN RING PROMO
---Cure by MetallicA---
The crowd boos loudly as Sick Boy enters the ring. As always, he has his metal bar sticking out of a bag. He enters the ring and drops the bag at his feet. He takes a mic.
SICK BOY: Tonight…tonight it starts. There are a few things that need to be said. First up, you all know my partner tonight is Robbie Brookside, so we don't need to go there.
Sick Boy reaches into his bag and pulls out the Raven head. He stares at it as he talks.
SICK BOY: You know…it's strange. I expected to feel more right now. I expected to feel rage, or sorrow…guilt? No…I feel nothing. AND THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I THINK OF YOU RAVEN! NOTHING! Now listen well…when I face Hunter at One Step Closer, you will be the referee. YOU will be in charge…YOU…you will have the power. But you need to remember this Raven…
Sick Boy looks up to the aisle.
SICK BOY: Do not screw me over. If you do anything at One Step Closer that doesn't play the match right down the middle, then…THEN I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT I DO, because I…I am the one who is here to reinvent the NCPW as you see it. And if you mess with me, or even TRY to mess with my somewhat unstable little mind…
A smile crosses Sick Boy's face and he looks back down to the decapitated head.
SICK BOY: Then you will haunt the NCPW nevermore.
The crowd boos and a "Raven! Raven!" chant breaks out. Sick Boy snaps the cardboard head and throws it to the side.
SICK BOY: And this leads me to my next subject for tonight.
---The Game by Motorhead---
The crowd cheers loudly as "The Game" enters down the ramp with a bag. He pauses in the middle of the aisle and looks to the crowd, then gives Sick Boy the finger. The crowd cheers and he throws the bag into the ring and rolls in.
SICK BOY: Speak of the Devil, and he shall appear. Tell me Game…how long do you think you're gonna last.
HHH: You seem to have two big problems. First one seems to be that you have this disillusion in that brain of yours that you might actually survive One Step Closer.
SICK BOY: Disillusion? You want to talk about disillusion? Disillusion does NOT have any place in my world Hunter. I don't decieve myself like the weak of mind do. Now…what, pray tell, is my second problem?
HHH: Me!
The crowd cheers and Hunter smiles at Sick Boy. Sick Boy goes and squats by his bag.
SICK BOY: Yes, I'll give you that. You ARE my problem. You have been nothing but a thorn in my side since I embarked on this path. But problems can be…eradicated. SO HOW ABOUT SOME PEST CONTROL YOU SON OF A BITCH?
Sick Boy pulls out his metal bar and slowly walks towards Hunter, who doesn't back down, but instead puts a hand in his bag.
HHH: Tell me…do you really think that intimidates me? No…try this on for size.
Hunter pulls out a sledgehammer! We have a stand off and the crowd cheers as the two stand staring at each other.
---Victim Of Darkness by Seasons Of The Wolf---
The crowd cheers as Raven comes charging down the aisle. He slides into the ring and stands between Sick Boy and HHH as the music fades. He gives each a quick glance and then sits there in the middle of the two. Sick Boy and Hunter look confused.
HHH: OK, I can see what's going on here. You Raven have every intention of playing things fair, don't you? But you seem to have a longing for Sick Boy. You want him to join you, but that aint happening. Take my advice freak…stay…out…of…this!
Raven doesn't move. He just continues to stare blankly. Sick Boy keeps his eyes on HHH, and HHH looks down on Raven.
---Inside by Stiltskin---
The music causes a rabid reaction from the fans. They cheer madly as the NCPW World Champion makes his way to the ring. He stands on the apron and looks at the three in the ring. He then steps in the ring and stands in front of Raven. Raven looks up and smiles, and gets to his feet. He then rolls out of the ring and watches from the crowd.
GLEN JACOBS: What is happening here is this. We have two high quality wrestlers who are set to fight at One Step Closer. One is a calculated fighter, and the other is a little twisted. They live on opposite sides of the fence, and are totally different, but they both have one thing in common. If thye win at One Step Closer, they're gonna get their ass kicked by the World Champion!
Glen soaks up the cheers as HHH looks pissed off and Sick Boy lowers his bar and smiles.
SICK BOY: You want disillusions? There's your disilussion Game.
Sick Boy steps out of the ring and looks at Raven. He holds the bar out in front of him and smiles. He then leaves. In the ring, Hunter and Glen seem to be having a stare down.
HHH: Now…lets see here…what I've just heard is my own partner for tonight saying how he's going to kick my ass tonight. Is that right?
GLEN JACOBS: What can I say? Tonight we're partnering, but when One Step Closer rolls around…if you manage to beat that twisted little freak…then you'll be dropped just like the rest.
HHH: Excuse me? You think it'll be THAT easy? Remember Double Jeopardy Glen? Remember how close I was to taking that lump of metal you carry around?
GLEN JACOBS: Yeah. You got close. But you have a problem…you don't concentrate. You…
HHH: And I learn from my mistakes Glen. These days I DO NOT lose my concentration. Notice aswell that Al Snow and Kiefer Sutherland are not here now? Tell me…what is there to distract me after I take Sick Boy apart?
GLEN JACOBS: Hunter…if you keep your concentration at One Step Closer…AND wrestle the best match of your life…AND get all the lucky breaks In the world…YOU STILL WON'T BEAT ME! I WON THIS BELT BECAUSE I'M THE BEST, AND I KEEP IT BECAUSE I'M THE BEST…and I won't lose it at One Ste Closer because YOU and Sick Boy are NOT the best!
Hunter looks at Glen, and stares him in the eyes. He then craxks a smile and backs down. Glen watches him leave as we go to…
PRE MATCH
---I Disappear by MetallicA---
The music is already playing and Modest and Dinsmore are already making their way to the ring as we join them. Then seem fairly comfortable to be working together as a team tonight.
---Poison by Alice Cooper---
As always, the crowd cheers. Dave Harris and Kid Kash stand at the top of the aisle and then launch into a bout of air guitar for the crowd before high fiving and charging the ring to begin the match.
"THE NATURAL" MICHEAL MODEST & NICK DINSMORE
VS
DAVE HARRIS & KID KASH
The match we had here, on paper seemed like a decnt encounter. It was. Kid Kash was double teamed by Modest and Dinsmore for the majority of the match, but Kash eventually blocked a Powerbomb with a Hurucanrana to Modest. This lead to both teams making the tag, and Dave Harris going wild on everyone. He hit a quick series of moves to each guy and then he and Kash started to double team everyone. The referee had problems gaining control, and as he ejected people from the ring Dean Malenko ran in through the crowd and nailed Harris with a chair. He then ducked out, and Dinsmore reluctantly hit the German Suplex on Dave for the pin.
Michael Modest and Nick Dinsmore defeated Dave Harris and Kid Kash when Dinsmore pinned Dave Harris with the German Suplex in 0:09:44.
PRE MATCH
---Cowboys From Hell by Pantera---
A small wave of boos from the crowd surfaces as Justin Credible enters the ring for this FTW Style match in warm up for One Step Closer and the five way.
---Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down---
The music plays and Nova enters. The reception proved that he was over with the fans here Edmonton. "The Innovator" got ready with a quick warm up before entering the ring.
NO HOLDS BARRED MATCH
JUSTIN CREDIBLE
VS
"THE INNOVATOR" NOVA
On paper, Justin Credible vs Nova SHOULD make you think of a hard hitting match. Unfortunately, nothing could upstage the match Mikey had earlier. This meant that this match was somewhat dull as the crowd failed to react to anything till Kanyon walked down the aisle stood at ringside. Kanyon didn't do anything either, he just watched Nova win with the Kryptonite Krunch and clapped.
POST MATCH
The crowd cheered as Kanyon stepped in the ring and he and Nova looked ready to square off.
KANYON: You know, I noticed something tonight. You seem to be calling yourself "The Innovator", am I right? We'll, everyone knows that KANYON…is the true Innovator. So what say we prove that?
NOVA: Let me get this straight…YOU think you're the true Innovator of the NCPW? HA! OK, we'll sort this ness out. One Step Closer, we're already fighting. But how about this…the WINNER gets the rights to the Innovator name?
KANYON: That's EXACTLY what I was thinking!
As Kanyon goes to leave, Nova stops him.
NOVA: Whoa there! Where are you going? You have a match! That's right, I arranged a little match for you. So why don't you stick around?
KANYON: OK…OK I'll fight whoever you want. Then the world can see the answer to the question…WHO'S BETTER THAN KANYON?
CROWD: NOVA! NOVA! NOVA!
---War Machine by Kiss---
Kanyon was upset about the crowd reaction, but THIS upset him even more! As Nova left, Taz came marching down the ramp to chants of "TAZ IS GONNA KILL YOU!" and "FUCK HIM UP TAZ! FUCK HIM UP!" and Kanyon waits anxiously for the bell.
"THE INNOVATOR" KANYON
VS
TAZ
Better than Nova's outing, but still somewhat average. The two traded a couple of moves, and Kanyon threw in some cowardly heel tactics before being caught in the Tazmission. As Taz looked set to get the win, Justin Credible, who had not left the ringside area, placed Kanyon's foot on the ropes! Justin then left to boos as Taz shouted at him. When Taz turned, Kanyon tried the Flatliner, but Taz countered with a Tazplex of some sort. Taz charges in, but Kanyon moves and Taz hits the post. He stumbles back out…FLATLINER! One…Two…Three!
Kanyon pinned Taz with the Flatliner in 0:08:38.
PRE MATCH
The crowd is HOT as we await the introductions for the main event. Then it starts.
---Victim Of Darkness by Seasons Of The Wolf---
The blue light floods the arena and Raven stands up from his seat in the crowd. He steps over the barrier and rolls into the ring. He first sits and then lays crucifix position. As the camera pans upwards, we can see that a cross is being projected onto Raven. He then sits up and backs into a corner.
---Cure by MetallicA---
The crowd explodes into a chorus of boos and Sick Boy and Robbie Brookside step out. The two enter together, and seem on the same page. This could be a bad sign for HHH and Glen Jacobs.
---The Game by Motorhead---
Hunter enters…alone. He seems quite happy alone, and takes his time getting to the ring. However, as soon as he gets in the ring he is attacked. Sick Boy and Robbie Brookside floor him and proceed to stomp him…
---Inside by Stitlskin---
The crowd cheers, but Glen Jacobs akes his time getting to the ring, and instea of helping Hunter, he stands on the apron holding the tag rope.
SPECIAL REFEREE: RAVEN
"THE GAME" HHH & "THE DEMON OF DESTRUCTION" GLEN JACOBS
VS
"WILDCAT" ROBBIE BROOKSIDE & "THE SICKEST MAN IN THE BUSINESS" SICK BOY
The bell rang, and Sick Boy was ejected by Raven. Robbie then took it to HHH until a well timed low blow left the chance open for HHH to walk over to his corner. He looked at Glen, then slapped him! He then tagged him and left the ring! Glen entered slowly and looked to Hunter, who was on the floor.
Glen Jacobs and Robbie Brookside looked surprisingly slick in the ring, with Glen starting off with the advantage. Things changed though. Hunter jumped in and Raven wen't over to eject him, leaving the chance open for Sick Boy to help Robbie! Hunter did that on purpose! Sick Boy and Robbie worked over Glen heavily from that point on and the champ was soon made bloody.
Towards the end, Glen made a come back with a big boot and a lariat. As he reached to tag Hunter though, Hunter dropped to the floor! Raven wen'' out to talk sense into The Game while Glen had to fight off Sick Boy and Robbie again! Finally, Raven conviced Hunter to step back onto the apron. As soon as he did so, Glen tagged him and left! Glen Jacobs walked straight up the aisle and left Hunter to deal with both guys!
Hunter DID manage to keep his mind on the match and he got some good blows in against both guys until the inevitable happened and they double teamed him. Raven TRIED to maintain order, but in the end, that was impossible. Raven managed to regain some sort of ordewr in theend when he decided to Eveflow Raobbie. When he turned, Sick Boy nailed nailed Hunter with The Cure and Raven counted the three.
TOP CONTENDERS CRUISERWEIGHT BATTLE ROYAL
A decent 10 man battle royal opens the show this week. The winner recieves a shot at the Cruiserweight Title at One Step Closer, and that turned out to be Juventud Guerrera. Indeed the eventual winner made the first eleimination, nailing Essa Rios with a dropkick to eliminate him. Until the end, this would be Juvy's only major contribution. The real story of the match ws Billy Kidman. Kidman went on an elimination spree! First, he took both Kuji Kanemoto AND shinjiro Ohtani out with a double clothesline, and then hip tossed TAKA out too! Less than a minute later, and Billy struck again, nailing Dragon Kid with a springboard leg drop and then tossing him too, before turning around and nailing Magnum TOKYO! After these five eliminations, Billy celebrated, but this cost him. Eiji Ezaki avenged his partner Essa's ousting by high leg clotheslining Billy over the top. Soon, Eiji nailed a springboard bulldog on Funaki and threw him out too. This left Eiji and Juvy. They traded some moves off, but in the end, Juvy hit a Juvy Driver from nowhere, and then made the elimination.
[Cruiserweight Top Contenders Battle Royal]:
Juventud Guerrera won a 10-man Battle Royal:
         x J. Guerrera threw out Essa in 0:01:28
         x Kidman threw out Kanemoto in 0:03:02
         x Kidman threw out Ohtani in 0:03:02
POST MATCH
As Juvy celebrated in the ring, with a bigger crowd reaction than normal, something stange happened. Eiji Ezaki was leaving up the aisle, but the rest of the participants from the battle royal came back out! They said something to Eiji, and he followed them back to the ring. Then Chavo Guerrero Jr. entered too, aswell as a host of other cruiserweights.
---Identity by Blaze---
The crowd cheers, while all in the ring look confused. The NCPW Owner Mr. Matthew J. Doyle enters and the wrestlers in the ring seem to realise that they are all in the cruiserweight class. They look around and then out to Mr. Doyle, who is standing outside the ring.
MATT DOYLE: OK, this is gonna take some time, so make yourselves comfortable. Now, I'm sure you've all realised that you are all cruiserweights here in the NCPW. The simple thought would be that this involves the Cruiser Kings show, and in an indirect way…it does. But that isn't the big picture.
The cruisers are showing a lot of different emotions here. Some look confused, others worried or angry. Mr. Doyle goes on anyway.
MATT DOYLE: In Japan, those in the cruiserweight style divisions are given a lot of respect. They have their own PPVs, their own shows, and even their own federations. But in the USA…that's not really the case. I mean, WCW gave cruiserweights a good little push. Nothing major though. WWF…nah,they have a history don't they? They bury all the talented cruisers who go there. Like TAKA Michinoku for example.
TAKA smiles, and Mr. Doyle continues to speak.
MATT DOYLE: Here in the NCPW, we run a show every year, called Cruiser Kings. A tournament to decide the top contender to the cruiserweight title. That may seem big, I mean…you get a WHOLE PPV! But lets face it, that's not really THAT big, is it? I mean, the heavyweights still run the show round here. And THAT…that is how it will always be. I mean, apart from the odd appearance here on Mettle, what else can you cruiserweight hope to gain here in the NCPW?
The cruiserweights are all looking very confused at this statement.
MATT DOYLE: Hell, maybe you should all just go home now, huh? Well…the NCPW has done a lot in the wrestling world, but from here on, things are gonna change. As you all know, the NCPW is going to primarily relocate to England soon, and constantly tour the world. But what of the cruisers? Well, the NCPW is making more changes than just the base of operations. For startes, to go with Mettle, there will be a new Monday night show, called NCPW Rage. This show will feature the heavyweights of the NCPW battling it out, much like Mettle without the cruisers. Meanwhile, the cruisers will still be allowed to appear on the odd Mettle.
The cruisers are getting angry now, and the crowd is bewildered.
MATT DOYLE: But that wouldn't be fair, would it? This is why there will be another show every Saturday called NCPW Faith. This will show highlights from the past week, and a few select matches from house shows. I guess the cruisers could get some time there if their good enough, huh?
The crowd boos again.
MATT DOYLE: Oh yeah, and on Fridays, there is a new show called NCPW Wings. This show? It's gonna feature NOTHING, but the NCPW cruiserweights! That's right, a TV show dedicated to the lightweight wrestlers here in the NCPW! What more could you want?
The crowd cheers, and the cruisers seem happy with this.
MATT DOYLE: It's about time the lighter wrestlers got as much attention as the heavyweights, and this show will help that. Now all we need is someone to run it. I mean, I can't be at EVERY show, so I think the cruiserweights need their own commissioner. Someone they can talk to to get those matches they want, and raise important issues with. Well…let me introduce to that man. The new commissioner of NCPW Wings…
---Uncle Tom's Cabin by Warrant---
MATT DOYLE: JEFF JARRETT!
The crowd cheers as Jeff Jarrett enters the ring and shakes hands with the cruisers. He then talks as Matt Doyle leaves to cheers.
JEFF JARRETT: Thank you Mr. Doyle, now lets get down to business. NCPW Rage, Wings and Faith will begin after One Step Closer 2003: End Game. I AM NOT a commissioner for all shows, just the cruiserweight show Wings. At that show, I'll be laying down the law, and takig it upon myself to take care of those who step out of line. Meanwhile, I am also going to be inviting wrestlers from around the world to appear on the show alongside our own stars, so jst think of the possibilities! One day, we could see the NCPW's own Dave Harris against Jyushin Lyger! Or we could have Billy Kidman against Darkness Dragon. So be ready…the NCPW Cruiserweight era is coming, and this revolution is getting it's own tag titles if I have any say in it!
The crowd cheers and the cruisers talk among themselves as we cut to…
IN A PARK SOMEWHERE NEAR TO THE ARENA
We hear a squeak that repeats itself, and when the camera turns, there in the dark is Raven on a swing. As the camera moves closer, Raven stops swinging and smiles. He looks up to the sky, and then kneels. He appears to be praying.
RAVEN: Jesus…what's the reason? For these scars that will never heal, hearts that no longer feel, eyes that can no longer see? Jesus…what's the reason?
Raven looks up to the camera.
RAVEN: For the child that will not survive, with all her dreams inside, could she mean nothing to thee? Tell me Jesus…what's the reason? Every tear isn't weighed the same, could you have died in vain…if we have short memories?
Raven stands and looks back to the sky before going back to the swing. There he sits, and stares directly at the camera.
RAVEN: In tis modern world, where the maerial goods rule us…it would be easy to think that the saviour died in vain. He gave his life for our sins, and we do nothing but add to those sins he died for. You see, at One Step Closer we have the Sick and the Hunter.
Raven gets up and begins to walk. As he exits the park he stops and sits on a wall.
RAVEN: In the wild, the hunters go after the sick. Take wolves. They act as a pack and target those who are ready to die…those who have lived and achieved all they can. But at One Step Closer, the rules change. Ravens follow wolves, because we know that they will lead us to the kill. And after that one moment where the hunter looks into the eyes of the prey, we can begin.
Raven looks to the sky again, and seems to focus on one solitary star.
RAVEN: At One Step Closer, the Raven controls the hunt. When a wolf looks into the eyes of the prey, and see it is not ready to die, it backs down, but at One Step Closer the Hunter will look into the eyes of the Sick and he will see…he will see that the Sick animal has more to offer this world…but he won't back down. No, he won't back down as they do in wild, but instead he will continue the assault all the harder. And why is that?
Raven gets down off the wall and walks on a few steps till he comes to an alley. He sits at the entrance to this alley.
RAVEN: He will not back down because this world is not run by the rules of the wild. We do not kill to survive, we kill for much more. The Hunter will hunt because he wants the gold. And the Sick? He too wants the material wealth, but to a lesser extent. You Sick Boy want the belt almost as much as HHH, but unlike him you do not fight solely for that reason.
Raven smiles and stands. The camera follows him as he walks down the alley.
RAVEN: You see, you are beginning to go much further than that. Like the values of the old times, you do not base your life around this wealth. You search for freedom, and rights…yet the modern call of Gold has also caught you. Jesus…
Raven stops at the end of the alley and turns back to the camera. He smiles.
RAVEN: Jesus may have died in vain, but this saviour is still here. And now the saviour is making the rules. Trust me Sick Boy…let me be YOUR saviour and I'll show you the way. For you see…my hands still bleed.
The camera moves down to show us that Raven's hands do indeed bleed. It then moves back up and Raven outstretches crucifix style.
RAVEN: Quote The Raven. Nevermore.
Raven turns to leave as we cut back to the arena.
PRE MATCH
Already in the ring are the challengers Justin Credible and Taz. Now we await the champion for this Triple Threat Match.
VS
JUSTIN CREDIBLE
As soon as Mikey got to the edge of the ring, he stopped the trolley and started th throw things into the ring. First the weapons in the trash can, then the can itself. He then threw the trolley too! Once he entered, his opponents were tolled up, and he took a cane shot from Credible and a Trash Can shot from Taz. Mikey rolled away and Credible started to fight Taz. From here, it was all conventional. These three were saving themselves for One Step Closer, and didn't want to do anything too special, so instead it was a few weapon shots and broken pin attempts until The Eliminators made their way to the ring. This lead to them entering and cleaning house of Taz and Credible with Total Elimination. Mikeyt then entered again and tried stop sign shots on the former tag champs, only to have them no sold. As they went after Mikey though, Credible made a recovery and hit them with his cane. This lead to a handicap fight on the outside as Taz got up and was nailed with the Whippersnapper for the three.
IN THE BACK
We see Jeff Jarrett talking to Glen Jacobs.
GLEN JACOBS: …Yeah! So Raven fights Kanyon tonight, and HHH and Sick Boy have the night off. Meanwhile I need to find someone to defend my title against tonight in the main event.
JEFF JARRETT: Well, I think I may be able to help you there. I know the perfect candidate!
GLEN JACOBS: Really? Who?
JEFF JARRETT: I'll give you a hint there…he's part of the NCPW Wings crew.
GLEN JACOBS: What? You mean you think I should face one of your little cruiserweight buddies? Ha! Don't make me laugh!
JEFF JARRETT: What? I was talking about me slapnuts! And as much as I think my cruisers could kick your ass, I think I may just be able to handle the situation myself!
GLEN JACOBS: HAHAHA! OK, OK…since you're so enthusiastic about this I'll kick YOUR ass tonight! HA!
JEFF JARRETT: That's it Glen…you prove what everybody has been saying since you got that damn belt! Take it lightly tonight and I'LL be the one going on to One Step Closer to face the winner of the Hunter versus Sick Boy match! I'm telling you boy, that belt has gone to your damn head!
Jarrett leaves as Glen laughs about the thought of him being over confident. We fade back to the ring.
PRE MATCH
---Drowning In A Daydream by Corrosion Of Conformity---
A small but decent pop for Jerry Lynn as he enters the ring. He looks a little different now than he did back at the start of the NCPW when he fought Rob Van Dam for the TV Title in a memorable ladder match, but the high work ethic is still there!
---Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down---
Nova on the other hand has a nice big pop from the crowd. The crowd are looking forward to his match at One Step Closer for the rights to the "Innovator" name against Kanyon, and this is going to be a good match.
"THE INNOVATOR" NOVA
VS
JERRY LYNN
Not quite what you'd expect from these two, but still totally solid. From the bell, they strung moves together, it's just a shame that the match didn't really flow. Lynn was not at fault here, and neither was Nova. They just didn't seem to click. After a series of near falls that had the crowd on its feet, Kanyon ran in with a chair and slid into the ring, only to be hit with a Nova dropkick, sending the chair flying over towards Jerry Lynn. As Kanyon got up, the referee started to push him out of the ring, giving Jerry Lynn the chance to hit Nova with the chair and throw it away before hitting a Cradle Piledriver for the three count as the crowd boos.
Jerry Lynn pinned Nova with the Cradle Piledriver in 0:07:05.
Stevie rolls out of the ring hurt, and Brookside goes after him! Benoit is waiting for Robbie, but Robbie beating on Stevie outside the ring! Robbie is counted out!
This left Benoit and RVD to preview their OSC match.  The match from here featured some strong chain work from RVD, which was surprising. The end was VERY heated too! After Benoit kicked out of a Five Star Frog Splash, RVD managed to hit a Van Daminator. The referee disciplined him about it, but didn't DQ him, letting Benoit recover and try a German Suplex. RVD landed on his feet though, and quickly applied a…CRIPPLER CROSSFACE! Benoit taps to his own hold.
ROB VAN DAM: You see Benoit? You can't beat the Whole F'N Show! And soon, Rob Van Dam will be the greatest TV Champion in the history of the NCPW! So get yourself up and start cleaning that belt up for a true champion!
The crowd boos and RVD leaves the ring. We cut to…
IN CHAVO GUERRERO JR'S LOCKER ROOM
We see Chavo Jr. sitting down on a chair reading a book. Within seconds, we hear a knock at his door and he opens it. J-Thunder step in and sit down on the floor in front of the chair. Chavo sits down again and TAKA removes his bag.
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: OK, I can see that you have something in that bag of yours. But before we get to that…any luck with the search?
SHOICHI FUNAKI: We have been asking around and we have follow many leads for you. The people we have asked have been most helpful…
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: You aint found shit, have you.
TAKA MICHINOKU: In a word, no. However, what we have in this bag will aid our search for your belt no end!
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: OK, lets see it.
TAKA reaches into his bag and pulls out a big pile of papers.
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: Wha…
SHOICHI FUNAKI: POSTERS!
TAKA MICHINOKU: You see? Belt missing. Have you seen this belt? Return to Chavo Guerrero Jr!
Chavo just stares blankly at the posters in his hand. He appears to be shaking his head.
TAKA MICHINOKU: You see! I knew he like the idea!
SHOICHI FUNAKI: We already put some up all over building!
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: You cannot be serious…tell me your joking…please tell me you are joking…
TAKA MICHINOKU: What? Why we joke about this?
SHOICHI FUNAKI: This serious!
Chavo stares at them, and they start to laugh.
SHOICHI FUNAKI: You far too gullable! Of course we not serious!
TAKA MICHINOKU: We followed through on a few leads and we have come up with something. That symbol on the paper left when the belt was stolen is the title of a Japanese Porn Movie starring Crazy MAX and…
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: I don't care who starred in the damn thing…are you saying that my belt was stolen by some naked Japs?
SHOICHI FUNAKI: Not quite.
TAKA MICHINOKU: Lets just say that we know there's four of them now. So get reay, because they'll show themselves soon enough.
CHAVO GUERRERO JR: Great…so…what do we do with these posters?
We fade out and then back in on an arena shot.
PRE MATCH
---The Wait by Killing Joke---
The crowd boos as the music plays and Kanyon enters. He high fives a small section of fans he has in the front row and then proceeds to shout at the rest of the crowd as he enters and waits for his opponent.
---Victim Of Darkness by Seasons Of The Wolf---
The crowd cheers as Raven steps out onto the aisle. He has his usual face paint on and stands crucifix style as the crowd chants his name. He then charges into the ring and he and Kanyon start to brawl.
RAVEN
VS
"THE INNOVATOR" KANYON
This was a nice little TV match. The brawl at the start was a good start to the match as both seemed comfortable to duke it out in this way before Raven took over with some stiff elbows. Raven then ran the ropes and hit a roaring elbow that staggered Kanyon. As he tried a second one though, Kanyon avoided it and hit a Bare Back. A Leg Drop followed and he got a two count. Being cocky, Kanyon celebrated and then tried his finisher , but Raven countered with an atomic drop. As Kanyon stumbled back, Raven hit a clothesline sending Kanyon to the mat where he nearly got trapped in the STF. From there, the match went back to brawling for a while. The finish was nicely pulled off. In the middle of the brawling, Raven hit a kick to the midsection, and tried the Evenflow. Kanyon pushed him off, and tried a clothesline. Raven ducked and hit the turning Kanyon with a kick to the midsection followed by an Evenflow DDT for the three.
Raven pinned Kanyon with the Evenflow DDT in 0:05:07.
Rating: ** ¼
POST MATCH
Raven celebrates over the fallen Kanyon and then leaves the ring and exits through the crowd. Kanyon meanwhile gets up slowly and realises that he has lost the match. In a fit of anger, he Flatliners the referee and leaves up the aisle. The camera then cuts to the parking lot.
IN THE PARKING LOT
We see Raven making his way out to the parking lot. As he steps out into the parking lot though, a man jumps him! We cannot clearly see whop it is yet, but he throws Raven into some cars and then climbs onto the car with him. The camera now clearly shows him to be Sick Boy. He lifts Raven up and hits a Cure on the car windscreen, and then kneels over the fallen and bloody Raven.
SICK BOY: YOU SEE? I DON'T NEED YOU! WHY WOULD I NEED SOMEONE AS WEAK AS YOU? HUH? You're weak…weak.
Sick Boy rolls off the car and then just calmly walks out of the arena kicking cars along the way.
~~~COMMERCIAL~~~

In the ring, we are ready to start another match.

---Hell In High Heels by Motley Crue---

Test enters the ring to his new theme song to a damp reaction from the crowd. There IS a pop there, it just isn't very big.

---Bleeding Me by MetallicA---

Val Venis gets a small but wnthusiastic pop from the fans too. He has his towel around his waist and he steps into the ring doing his usual act and takes a mic after removing the towel.

VAL VENIS: Heeelllllooooo Laaaaaddddiiiieeeesss! Tonight, as you all know, the big Valbowski is a lot like the Rubicks Cube. The more you play with it, the harder it gets, and Val Venis sure plays HARD!

The females pop, and a few men give an unenthusiastic cheer.

TEST
VS
VAL VENIS
An average match here. Test played the big man, and Val made some spirited come backs for a while. The first problem came when he floored Test and stood over him. He did the hip girating and seemed ready to lay in with the punches, but he paused for a moment and Test hit a low blow to get back into things. The finish was something similar. As Val floored Test, he did his taunt and then paused and seemed to contemplate something. This left Test free to hit a Pumphandle Slam, and Val rolled out of the ring and just left up the aisle to lose by count out.

Test defeated Val Venis by countout in 0:06:45.

PRE MATCH
After some confusion from Test about his win, we are ready for the main event.

---Uncle Tom's Cabin by Warrant---

The crowd cheers Jeff Jarrett as he makes his way to the ring. He raises his guitar and embraces the cheers he's getting here before stepping between the ropes.

---Inside by Stiltskin---

The guitars kick in and Glen steps through the curtain. He indulges himself and soaks up his cheers from the rabid fans. The fans have really taken to him as champion, and he walks down the aisle and steps over the ropes. The first thing he gets when he does this a guitar to the head and THEN the bell rang.

WORLD TITLE MATCH
"THE DEMON OF DESTRUCTION" GLEN JACOBS
VS
JEFF JARRETT
Jarrett goes for the pin! One…Two…Glen kicks out! Jarrett stays on him though and drops a leg on the legs of Glen Jacobs and then drapes them across the ropes and drops his weight on them. Jarrett hen pulls Glen to the centre of the ring and applies the figure four! Glen writhes in pain in the centre of the ring, but manages to turn and force the hold to be broken. Jarrett doesn't let up though and instead charges in hits Glen with a clethesline and tries the Stroke. Glen pushes him off, but Jarrett hits another clothesline. Glen stumbles and Jarrett runs the ropes. He tries another clothesline, but Glen hits Big Boot! Glen falls to one knee and Jeff starts to get up, but Glen cuts him off with a massive Lariat! One…Two…ThrFoot on the ropes! IN what msut be a first, this lead into a secton of brawling where Glen came up losing! Jeff actually managed to nearly take the big guy out with some quick blows and then he hit the Stroke, but Glen rolled to the outside. Jarrett followed him and threw him back in the ring and went for the cover. One…Two…ThrNo! Shoudler Up! Jarrett is getting pissed off, but he doesn't seem to let it bother him too much as he stomps Glen in the head and tries a suplex. Of ourse Glen reversed this and came back with a top rope leg drop that got him a two count. Jarrett came straight back with a low blow though and continued to work over Glen. This went on till the end. When Jarrett tried yet another Stroke, Glen pushed him off and nailed another Lariat. He then picked Jarrett up and hit a Unabomb. This was enough to put Jarrett away, and Glen retained.

Glen Jacobs pinned Jeff Jarrett with the Unabomb in 0:12:14.
Rating: * ½
(Glen Jacobs retained the NCPW World Title.)

POST MATCH
Glen takes his belt and looks down on Jarrett. He then smiles and holds the belt aloft. We fade on that shot.
